Microsoft Office 2000 (or Office 2K form some techies) is by now an old version that only runs in some old computers. Nevertheless, it is a very good version which is worth having just in case.
Originally it had up to 4 CDs and came with a lot of free applications. The only drawback is that you will need some time to unveil all of them. As always, this suite includes Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft FrontPage, Microsoft Photodraw and Microsoft Small Business Customer Manager (not to mention a lot of fonts and graphics). There were cut-down version which only had Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
One of the good aspects of the suite is the installation, it is very simple and doesn't take much time; and what is great is the possibility to install only the packages you need to. For instance, if you installed only word and excel and desire to install access and/or PowerPoint, you just install them without having to install the previous packages.
Microsoft tried to make all its applications capable of sending its documents to the Web; unfortunately, it didn’t work as we all expected.
So to sum up, I think that except for what I have just explained, the office suit works perfectly fine and it is a nice option for slow machines.
